Rabies exposure remains a significant public health issue in the state and country, potentially with fatal impacts. Understanding the critical steps of prevention, post-exposure response and management of the disease is essential for public health professionals. This session highlights the issues surrounding a domestic rabies exposure, and how to efficiently and effectively respond to an exposure. Also addressed are the animal importation guidelines in place by the state (NJ) and federal governments to prevent the risk of rabies exposure.
