As Region 2, we have carefully designed our logo to reflect not only public health, but also the four representative areas that compose our region.
When you Google “public health” you get a variety of different images. The circle is constantly present in public health imagery. There is also the well-recognized diagram of the 10 Essential Services of Public Health and the socio-ecological model.
Because our designated public health content area is Health Disparities, Health Equity, and Social Determinants of Health, it was really important for us to bear these models in mind while creating our logo.
We turned to the flags of the representative locations that make up Region 2 for inspiration.
A key color was chosen from each flag as we drew upon the prominent circle motif.
Finally, we pulled the circles together with what ties New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands together: Region 2.
