The Leadership Institute at the Region 2 Public Health Training Center (R2PHTC) is designed to support emerging public health leaders across New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to advance their careers while strengthening their capacity to lead and serve their communities effectively.
Advanced Leadership in Times of Crisis
In partnership with Impactivo and Imkada Solutions, the R2PHTC launched the inaugural cohort of the Advanced Leadership in Times of Crisis Institute in May 2025, held on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. This 8-week leadership program is designed to support early- to mid-career public health professionals seeking to advance into leadership roles within health departments, community-based organizations, and other public health settings.
In 2015, Impactivo created the Advancing Leadership in Times of Crisis (ALTC) institute in partnership with the Region 2 Public Health Training Center and the Puerto Rico Department of Health. This innovative program was designed to address a critical need in Puerto Rico: preparing public health leaders to navigate complex challenges and lead with resilience during difficult times.
