As Region 2, we have carefully designed our logo to reflect public health and also our four representative areas that compose of the region.
When you Google “public health” you get a variety of different images. The circle is constantly present in public health imagery. You also have the well-recognized diagram of the 10 Essential Services of Public Health to the socio-ecological model.
Because our designated public health content area is Health Disparities, Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health, it was really important for us to bear these models in mind while creating our logo.
We also turned to the flags of the regions that made up Region 2 for inspiration.
We chose the key color from each flag and we drew on the circle motif.
Finally, we pulled the circles together with what ties New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands together: Region 2.
